Well, two problems really.
Firstly - and I AM prepared to admit there's more romance than realism is this one - I reckon if you're with someone long-term you ought to believe every minute of every day that it's forever, and when that fades into reasoning your days together are numbered.
Secondly, in the name of basic respect, if my partner was discussing the possibility of giving me "the boot" at top volume across a plumbing classroom I would not be very fucking pleased.
